Zantilla to release Encounters on October 24th

We would like to welcome Zantilla aka Adrian Shegstad with his debut album titled Encounters!

Adrian's favorite "toy" as a child was an upright piano, giving him endless hours to discover thoughts and feelings through music. As he got older, his "toy" collection grew to include drums and guitar.

By high school, Adrian had acquired a very particular taste for electronic music and progressive metal. While conducting several electronic projects, he had secretly been trying to merge his obsession for synthetic sounds and dense, progressive compositions. Years later, after hearing Virt's FX4, he found his passion in the chiptune world. Thus, Zantilla was born. Inspired by progressive metal acts like Dream Theater, Animals As Leaders and Chimp Spanner, and a handful of chiptune artists as Virt, Shnabubula, coda, and Diad, Zantilla attempts to keep his works in both scenes.

Encounters is a collection of works that focuses on J. Allen Hynek's Scale of Close Encounters which relates to everything from UFO sightings, to abductions, and even communication between humans and extraterrestrial beings. To paint this musical picture, Adrian chose a wide array of FM sounds, with some 2A03 additions. This, in combination with modern metal recording techniques and live drum sounds, give Encounters a very rich sonic palette using simple textures.

The first track off of Encounters we would like to share is titled "7th Kind":

Encounters will be released on October 24th. Traditionally, TrueStar of Noise Channel radio will handle a listening party, and right after the album will be available to download.
